A Photo Poem

I chose an ee cummings' poem for my photo story because his poems are meant to be read aloud, and often, because of his eccentric typography and punctuation,  his meaning isn't apparent until it IS read aloud.  "in Just", for me, is a poem about the end of childhood- children being drawn into adulthood. Darker interpretations exist, but I will leave that for the reader to decide.

Having students create this type of photo project can help them make abstract poems and ideas more concrete and understandable.

Enjoy.

Comet 'Bites the Dust' Around Dead Star

Today's Flash

There is nothing to writing. All you do is sit down at a typewriter and bleed. -
Ernest Hemingway

And a word carries far--very far--deals destruction through time as the bullets go flying through space. -Joseph Conrad

Words are too powerful and too personal, and once printed or posted, too permanent! (Sorry for the alliteration) As much as I love technology, I have avoided blogs. Maybe I am more afraid of what you will see rather than what I will say. Hopefully this exercise in blogging will help me be less taciturn and more talky.

My intent for this blog topic will be Ed Tech and teacher sites of interest.

...speaking of words- take a look at one of my favorite word websites- Visuwords, a visual graphical dictionary. The kids love it!

Whew! I am exhausted. That's it for today!
